We've just completed a Shopify integration project with the team at Sparrow Digital for one of their clients.
The Sparrow Digital team had helped their client move across from Magento to Shopify, including inventory and point-of-sale integration. The move was a huge success and they've continued to work on the site to optimise performance of the store and take advantage of additional growth opportunities.
As part of the original implementation, the Shopify store was already synced to their store inventory & in-store sales, ensuring that only in-stock items were available for sale online. However, the team identified an opportunity where some products could be sold even if stock wasn't being held in-store.
Suppliers could provide stock files for items that were available to ship in from their warehouse on-demand. If these files could be integrated with the Shopify store, they would be able to offer a broader set of products for sale, without having to increase their stock holding, and with only a small increase in delivery times for those products.
We worked with the Sparrow Digital team to build an integration that ingests data from a supplier, locates the matching product in Shopify and updates inventory rules in Shopify to allow/disallow products that are available in supplier warehouses to be sold to customers.
The solution is flexible enough to deal with different file formats from multiple suppliers, making it easy to onboard new suppliers with minimal effort. It also provides a comprehensive dashboard inside Shopify allowing the client to monitor status of integrations, query individual supplier oversell rules, and flagging items requiring ordering in following purchases.
What they had to say…
It was great working with the team at Ademti Software again. Their knowledge of the Shopify platform was invaluable in helping us conceptualise and design the solution. Everything works perfectly and will start delivering growth benefits in no time at all!
